GVSU Charter Schools Office Launches School Data Mapping Tool

Today, we mark the launch of Mi-School.net, an interactive mapping tool that provides parents, educators, and organizations with demographic information surrounding the traditional, charter, and private schools in the state of Michigan.
A partnership between Grand Valley State University’s Charter Schools Office, Johnson Center for Philanthropy, and College of Education, along with the Michigan Council of Charter School Authorities, brought 2010 Census Data to life to provide a useful tool and story of Michigan’s education options.
The tool, adapted by the Community Research Institute at the Johnson Center's MAPAS tool, allows users to compare and contrast demographic data across schools and school districts. Users can look at data including enrollment, and standardized testing performance for schools, along with information about the communities surrounding each school.
